Anxiety
“Anxiety feels like running a marathon with no finish line.” If constant worry, panic, or tension has been running your life, there’s hope. On this page you’ll learn how IV ketamine therapy at AlphaOmega Wellness can interrupt anxious patterns, calm your mind and give you back control.
What Is Anxiety?
Constant or excessive worry about everyday situations
Restlessness, agitation or feeling “on edge”
Racing thoughts or difficulty concentrating
Trouble sleeping (insomnia) or frequent nightmares
Muscle tension, trembling or fatigue
Shortness of breath, palpitations or chest tightness
Avoidance of social situations or triggers
Panic attacks (sudden episodes of intense fear with physical symptoms)
Anxiety often co‑exists with depression and other “mental‑health” conditions. It can significantly reduce quality of life and lead to avoidance behaviors that limit personal and professional growth.
Anxiety is more than occasional nerves before a big event, it’s a persistent state of worry, fear or unease that can interfere with daily life. There are several forms of anxiety disorders, including generalized anxiety disorder (GAD), panic disorder, social anxiety disorder, phobias and obsessive–compulsive disorder (OCD). Anxiety can manifest as physical symptoms like racing heart, sweating and muscle tension, as well as cognitive symptoms like persistent worry, intrusive thoughts or an inability to relax.
If these symptoms feel familiar, it’s important to speak with a professional. Our care team is here to listen and guide you.
How IV Ketamine Helps Anxiety
Traditional anti‑anxiety medications like SSRIs or benzodiazepines can take weeks to work, or may provide only temporary relief. Ketamine is different. By acting on NMDA receptors and increasing glutamate release, ketamine creates rapid changes in neural circuits involved in fear and worry. Many patients feel calmer within hours or days of their first infusion, and relief tends to build over a series of treatments. Ketamine can also enhance neuroplasticity, making it easier for the brain to adopt new, healthier patterns of thinking.
Why our approach stands out
Physician‑led dosing:
Treatments are supervised by Dr. Dee Bonney (25+ years as a board‑certified emergency physician) and Megan Bonney, PMHNP‑BC. We tailor dosing based on your medical history and monitor your vitals throughout every infusion.
Safety first:
IV ketamine is administered in a calm, private environment with emergency equipment and experienced staff on site. We don’t use lozenges or mail‑order kits. For your safety and results.
Integrative Care:
Ketamine isn’t the whole story. We provide integrative recommendations and view your care through a functional medicine lens to support brain health not “mental health”
Faith‑driven compassion:
You’re not just a number or a label, our family‑owned practice cares for you spiritually and emotionally while respecting your beliefs.
Your Treatment Plan
Free consultation: Meet with our team (in person or via telehealth) to discuss your symptoms, medical history and goals. We’ll answer every question: no pressure, no commitment.
Infusion series: Most patients begin with a series of six infusions over 2–3 weeks, lasting 40 min. You’ll relax in a recliner while our staff monitors your vitals. Some people feel relief after the first infusion; others notice gradual improvement over the series.
Integration & aftercare: After each session, we’ll help you process insights (as you wish) and practice anxiety‑reducing tools if needed. Maintenance infusions are scheduled/needed based on your response.
