IV Ketamine Cost
What IV ketamine costs
No, insurance doesn’t cover it. Not here, and not anywhere. IV ketamine for depression is used off label, so it is almost never covered by any insurer in the country. That is not an AlphaOmega thing.
And yes, you’ll get your exact number at your free consult, before you’ve committed to anything.
Here’s the rest of it.
Why we're also out of network
Two separate things are true here. The first one you already read. Nobody covers IV ketamine, so that part was never our decision. The second is that we also chose to stay out of network entirely, and that part was deliberate. These are the four reasons, and the last one matters most.
Your protocol gets decided in this room
Not by someone three states away who has never met you, working from a policy that says six infusions is one too many. Dr. Bonney and I build your plan around how you actually respond, and we adjust it when you need us to.
Nobody is waiting on a prior authorization
If you are on this page, you have probably been struggling for a while. Three weeks of paperwork before anyone can help you is not a neutral delay. It is three more weeks.
Your appointment is not fifteen minutes
Insurance reimbursement is built around volume. See more people, see them faster. That model is fine for strep throat. It is a terrible fit for an infusion you sit through, with a provider who is actually watching you.
You will never get a surprise bill from us
You will know your full cost before your first infusion. No claim denied six weeks later. No deductible that reset in January. No envelope in March you were not expecting. One number, agreed on up front, and that is the number.
One number, up front
What you pay depends on your protocol, so we price it after we have talked with you, not before. What you will not get is a range, a starting-at, or an it-depends. You will get your number, and that is the number. The consult itself is free, and free means free. No card, no deposit, no obligation to book anything afterward.
Out of network doesn't mean you're on your own
Here is everything we can put toward the cost.

HSA & FSA Accepted
Both work here. That is pre-tax money you already set aside for medical care, and this is medical care. If you have a balance sitting there, this is exactly what it is for.

One more honest thing, since we are being honest. Covered and affordable are not the same word, and neither one means worked. Plenty of people spend years inside their network, cycling through the fourth and fifth and sixth medication their plan approves, copay after copay, and end up right where they started. That is covered. It is also costing them something that never shows up on a bill.
If that has been your last few years, it is worth finding out what this would actually cost you. Even if the answer turns out to be no.
Questions we get
Will you bill my insurance for me?
No. We are not contracted with any plan, so there is nothing to bill. You pay us directly and we give you a receipt for your records.
What about Spravato? Is that covered?
Often, yes. Spravato is the esketamine nasal spray, FDA approved specifically for treatment-resistant depression, and insurers frequently cover it with a prior authorization and documented medication trials. It is a different medication in a different setting. IV ketamine is the one that is used off label.
Can I use my HSA or FSA card at the office?
Yes. Bring it.
What if I get to the end of the consult and cannot make the money work?
Tell us. We would rather point you somewhere useful than have you walk out with nothing. If the answer is no, we will follow up with some resources afterward so you are not left with a dead end.
Questions that are not about money? We answered a lot more of them on the IV Ketamine Therapy FAQ, including what an infusion actually feels like and who is in the room with you.
